Event location details

Be a Scientist Zone

Flowers Building, Imperial College London

Step into the interactive lab of a scientist testing the boundaries of perception!

The Immersive Sound Lab is a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) experience exploring how sound interacts with the physical world. For 10 minutes, you'll be the active participant in a specially prepared space where physical and virtual elements merge. Can you trust your ears? Is sound really coming from the objects around you, or is it all an auditory trick?

By taking part, you’ll feed into live research at Imperial College London, helping designers from the Dyson School of Design Engineering and Reactify understand how we perceive spatial audio. Your feedback will shape the future of immersive environments, with applications in entertainment and education.

This one-of-a-kind experience is part of the Be a Scientist Zone, where you can influence real research while having fun.
