From micro-bots to smarter AI and revolutionary MedTech, discover how magnificent machines are working to propel mankind into a flourishing future. Plug yourself into our Tech Zone as you explore some of our tantilising gadgets and gizmos!
How do towns evolve as our environment changes? Show us how you would re-design a local London hotspot to best suit the community, before driving around a virtual South Kensington where autonomous vehicles are the norm. Fancy yourself more as a fearless explorer? Have a go at deep-sea diving or collecting samples in space, as you transport yourself to some of the most remote environments and undergo perilous missions from the comfort of the Festival. Check out some of the latest medical marvels in prosthetics, wearables helping to keep our health in-check and revelatory medical treatments that will help us all live long and prosper as populations grow. Then grab a pair of headphones and learn how AI behaviour can come from simple dance instructions at Swarm Dance: The AI Silent Disco.
Don’t forget to come and greet some of our robot friends as they demonstrate how they help us in all walks of life. From household assistance and supporting industry to tiny robots that are used in our bodies to treat illnesses, there is a robot for everybody in our RoboRoom! After learning about these new technologies and engineering triumphs, we hope you'll be inspired to get creative yourself by creating a MiniBot with our robotic kits and Build a BodyBot using recycled textile materials.
