Escape the Festival hustle and bustle with a relaxing yoga workshop inspired by the insect movements we study at Imperial.
Stretch, flutter, and soar in this yoga workshop blending science with movement. During this relaxing 30-minute session we’ll be exploring some creepy crawly movements, offering a fresh and energizing way to engage with nature.
A researcher from Imperial College London's Bioengineering Department will share some fascinating facts about butterflies and dragonflies, the masters of flight and agility, before you'll channel their grace and flexibility through a series of insect-inspired yoga poses guided by professional instructor, Abbie Biscoe.
Whether you’re a yoga enthusiast or a curious beginner, this workshop will help limber up your body, refresh your mind, and see insects in a whole new light. Yoga mats are provided but feel free to bring your own if preferred.
Workshops will run at 12.20–12.50, 13.20–13.50, and 14.20–14.50 on both Saturday and Sunday.
Visitor information
The workshop takes place in a zone for people 18+ only. People younger than 18+ will not be allowed entry into the building.
There will be advance tickets released for this event closer to the Festival weekend.
If you have an advance ticket, please arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the start time. Your ticket gives you priority access, however, as this is a free event we overbook to help ensure a full event and your space may be reallocated. Early arrival reduces this risk.
This workshop is on the first floor, access is via stairs or a lift. Accessible toilets can be found on the ground floor of the building.
