Welcome to the Bandstand. This year's programme will be hosting some of the best up and coming acts from the Royal College of Music, Goethe Institut, the Institut français and the Royal Albert Hall. Alongside these acts expect live jazz and soul, world music and more!

About the performances

Astral Quartet - The Astral saxophone quartet from the Woodwind Faculty of the Royal College of Music will be performing an exciting and diverse programme of music kicking off Great Exhibition Road Festival Bandstand 2024

Bassoon Quartet - Ever heard four bassoons play as a quartet? If not, join us as we present one the top Woodwind Faculty ensembles from the Royal Collge of Music in this unusual line-up

Imperial Gospel Choir - Imperial College Gospel Choir is a lively, exciting Choir which has been running for over 10 years. Having performed at the Great Exhibition Road Festival in 2023 with a mesmorising performance expect bigger and better for this group this year on the Bandstand!

George Sean and Friends -  Get ready to groove to the rhythm of London's hottest beats as singer and songwriter George Sean takes over the Bandstand. Expect energy and upbeat vibes from the incredible HERHIMTHEM, Madeleine Wood and Rhyan Jordan!

Rotation Collective - Rotation Collective creates a platform for underrepresented people in the industry and give them space to perform. With a live band and artists covering a multitude of genres including Soul, Neo Soul and R&B we bring our 'Vocals Showcase' to the Great Exhibition Road Festival.

Lucerna Quartet - The Lucerna saxophone quartet from the Woodwind Faculty of the Royal College of Music showcase some of the music they've been performing across the year.

Sequenza 93 - Discover a collection of patrimonial songs from the French département of Seine-Saint-Denis in the Parisian banlieue. In the Olympic spirit of sport performances, this artistic project shows the cultural diversity of this département and brings all generations together.

Albert's Band - A versatile and highly skilled group of musicians, Albert’s Band perform for all ages. The group are the resident ensemble for the Royal Albert Hall’s extensive Engagement programme and perform at everything from their Albert’s Band Presents… family concerts in the Hall’s Elgar Room to free sessions in care homes and hospices.

Rhythm Studio - Explore the creativity of talented young artists from the local area. Rhythm Studio’s set will feature some of the stars of the Triborough Music Hub’s 2024 Future Sounds competition, The Crosswalks, Genesis Brown and Meg Bannister will be hosted by hip-hop artist and beatboxer Shamime Ibrahim.

The Gastric Band - Is there a correlation between being a bioengineer and being a musician? The Gastric Band includes students, researchers, technicians, administrators and academics from the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London (with a few friends from other departments).
