Squidsoup

Squidsoup is a UK-based international group of artists, researchers, technologists and designers working with digital and interactive media experiences. Their work combines physical and dynamic digital spaces with novel and intuitive forms of interaction to produce immersive, responsive and beguiling experiences.

The digital fantasy of Exhibition Road was inspired by conversations with Professor Rafael Calvo at Imperial College London. Calvo's research focuses on the design of systems that support wellbeing in areas of mental health, medicine and education, and on the ethical challenges raised by new technologies.

Squidsoup's work is sculpted media, a dynamic form, a provocation to flow and interact, an encouragement to move inquisitively and adventurously through space, to rediscover our relationship to each other in this public physical space.

This is a development of Squidsoup's expressions of elemental themes and technologies, 1000’s of enmeshed points of light and sound and emergent behaviours and would be built using Squidsoup's Audiowave IoT technologies developed in works such as Wave (Salisbury Cathedral 2019), Desert Wave (Burning Man 2019) and Murmuration (SMoCA 2019-20).
